The University Library:
Mother Teresa Women’s University Library was started in 1984. The university library is virtually a “Mecca” for researchers in Women’s Studies. Its unique and rare collection of books. reports, and journals on women, makes the library for excellence and competence in Women’s Studies.
The university Library maintains a comprehensive collection of volumes numbering 76019 and 3561 volumes of complementary books from various sources. The Thrust area of library is Women’s Studies pertaining to various disciplines. Membership is open to students, scholars, University Faculties and registered full time Scholars.
The library is being equipped with INFLIBNET facilities wide reference and information. Documentation work has been carried out on Women related issues. NKN (National Knowledge Network) Lab facility with 1GB connectivity.
Green Library:
The University Library is incorporated with eye catching Green Library which is designed to optimize positive energy, enhance air quality, and natural lighting. It is eco- friendly, natural with biophilic design (Connecting people with nature). This Green library is filled with small plants, inculcating the habit of watering the plants and accessing the resources with a variety of birds, including peacocks.
Library Rules and Regulations
- Readers are required to deposit their personal belongings such as bags, personal belongings must be left at the property counter at the entrance of the library.
- Membership: Students, Research Scholars, Faculty members and Staff of MTW University are eligible to become members of the library.
- A valid, non-transferable library ID card is mandatory for entry and borrowing.
- Users must sign the entry register at the entrance counter.
- Issue of books to the students, research scholars and administrative staff members for 15 days and teaching faculty members for 30 days.
- Items must be returned by the due date to avoid fines.
- Renewal of books will be allowed thrice if the book is not in demand.
- Absolute silence must be maintained inside the library. Group discussions are generally prohibited.
- Late return will result in fines, usually calculated on a per-day, per- book basis( Rs1 /day).
- Underlining, writing, scribling and tearing of pages of books/ journals is strictly prohibited.
- If a book is lost /damaged, the usermust replace it or pay the full replacement cost or double the cost of the book to the library.
- Readers are requested to keep the Books / Periodicals on the table after reference.
- Prior Permission to be availed for using the laptop to access e-resources.
- Mobile phones are strictly prohibited within the premises.
- Eating and drinking are prohibited in the library, and it is highly recommended that cleanliness be maintained inside the Library.
- No outside / personal books are allowed in the library for reading purposes.
- The librarian holds the right to recall the issued books at any time.
- Students leaving the university must obtain a “No Dues” certificate from the librarian.
