Rashtriya Uchchatar Shiksha Abhiyan (RUSA)
Rashtriya Uchchatar Shiksha Abhiyan (RUSA) is a centrally sponsored scheme launched by the Ministry of Education, Government of India, in 2013 to improve the quality, access, equity, and governance of higher education institutions across the country.
Objectives:
- Enhance overall quality of state universities and colleges
- Improve access to higher education, especially in underserved regions
- Promote equity for socially and economically disadvantaged groups
- Strengthen institutional governance and accountability
- Encourage accreditation and reforms in higher education
