PHASE –I INFRASTRUCTURE GRANT

The major components of RUSA Phase-I (2013–2017) were:

• Creation of Universities by Upgrading Existing Autonomous Colleges
  • Support for well-performing autonomous colleges to become full-fledged universities.
• Creation of New Model Degree Colleges
  • Establishment of model colleges in educationally backward districts to improve access.
• Infrastructure Grants to Universities and Colleges
  • Financial assistance for classrooms, laboratories, libraries, hostels, and campus development.
• Upgradation of Existing Degree Colleges to Model Colleges
  • Strengthening selected colleges to meet high academic and infrastructural standards.
• Creation of New Universities
  • Establishment of new state universities to reduce regional disparities.
• Equity Initiatives
  • Support systems for women, SC/ST/OBC, minorities, and differently-abled students.
• Faculty Recruitment Support
  • Assistance for filling vacant faculty positions and improving academic quality.
• Research, Innovation and Quality Improvement
  • Promotion of accreditation, governance reforms, and research activities.
